Two October workshops have been added to the CT Digital Scholarship Exchange series, a collaborative program of virtual workshops organized by Connecticut College and Trinity College. This semester we launched a new initiative to include guests from beyond our institutions to share digital scholarship projects and programming at institutions throughout Connecticut. All faculty, students, and staff are welcome to join us!

Reimagining Legacy Digital Public History Projects – ConnecticutHistory.org (CT Humanities)

Thursday, October 10,  3:00-4:00 PM | Zoom

Presenter: CT Humanities

Over a decade ago, CT Humanities launched its born-digital public history project, ConnecticutHistory.org as a place to find histories of the people, events, places, and stories of Connecticut. While usership has grown to an average of a million views per year, the years have also seen rapid changes in scholarship, digital practices, and website design and functionality. The presentation will cover the original intention and design behind the project, the benefits and complications of legacy digital projects, and how the CT Humanities Digital Humanities team is thinking about a reorientation to better reflect and serve our audiences.

This presentation is part of our “project showcase” series. If you have a project you’d like to workshop or share, email Mary Mahoney for more information.
