The new Shain Library Recording Studio (Shain 309) is now available to all students, faculty, and staff! The studio provides a quiet space for recording, videoconferencing, and for post-production work. The space can be reserved for two hour blocks during regular Shain Library hours, and training is available by appointment during regular office hours. The studio is made possible by a generous donation from Mark Iger ‘75.
Hardware and Software
The studio includes two microphones in addition to a three camera set-up – one for each of two participants and one wide view – connected to an ATEM Mini Pro Extreme video switcher. A green screen is installed on the short wall, extending the creative possibilities for the space. Post-production software includes Apple Final Cut, iMovie, Garageband, Audacity, DaVinci Resolve, OBS streaming software, Zoom, Rogue Amoeba Fission, Loopback, SoundSource, and Farrago.
Training and Consultations
Training and consultations are available during regular office hours. We are happy to consult with you on the development of assignments and class projects that utilize the studio, in addition to training on the hardware and software. As always, we are also available to work with students and entire classes. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment and get started!
